Sendha namak (rock salt) is also known as saindhava lavana, halite or fasting salt. Many people use sendha namak instead of regular white salt in food. Sendha namak is generally light pink in color. Himalayan pink salt is one of the best-known types of Sendha namak, but many other varieties also exist. Sendha namak is also used a lot in making medicines in Ayurveda because it is considered beneficial for health in many ways.
